Stressed? Massage is your answer

Stress management is crucial in today’s busy world. Stress is linked to major health problems and massage is one therapy that can create a holistic space for YOU to open into a deep state of relaxation, allowing for repair and renewal.

Massage has a profound effect on the central nervous system (CNS). Massage creates change in the internal chemistry of the body and the brain significantly, provoking a parasympathetic response. The intentional, fluid strokes of massage stimulate vasodilation, which increases oxygen supply to tight muscles and the process of relaxation begins. The body’s neurotransmitters and hormones shift from fight and flight to elements that induce relaxation, even sleepiness.

While any form of massage can induce relaxation there are modalities that are better suited for your unique stress response. Being as open as possible about what you are feeling aids the process a lot!

  • Pain, posture: – Remedial Myofascial release.
  • Moods, change of seasons:- Kahuna Hot stone (great winter technique) Best summed up as “it massages your soul!”
  • Environmental: – Aromatherapy… a tailored aroma blend created for YOU and YOUR needs.

Invite yourself to make the time – each week, fortnight or month – to be given the opportunity to simply be! Your body and your health will thank you.

Finding our presence. We are complex beings, with amazing and constantly racing minds brimming with thoughts, feelings and ideas. Learning to still and quieten that racing, enables us to access the deeper part of ourselves that might be called ‘spirit’. Eckhart Tolle refers to being in an ‘alert space’ where we can find ‘the presence behind the person’.
